No More Nuk for RyAnne

We know, we know......you're thinking "She still sucked a pacifier at age 5?" but it was so hard to get her to stop! She would cry and cry and we would cave. Finally, we told her when school started she had to give up her nuk - her teacher said. We figured she would be so tired at night she wouldn't need it. Well, school started and ...... she wasn't THAT tired. Then last weekend I bought her a present and wrapped it and told her she could open it once she gave up her nuk. After two nights without it she got her present. She still misses her nuk and asks for it at night. We tried telling her she looks so cute sleeping without it. She didn't believe us so here's the proof.....She said she doesn't care what she looks like she still misses her nuk!

Now to work on Dakota and Bailey...

Dancing Queen

RyAnne was SO excited to start ballet class this week. When I picked her up from school she was jumping up and down squealing, "I can't wait for dance!" Finally, the big day!
Outside the dance studio - all smiles!

Shoes on....
Ready to go!

Her teacher, Miss Davis, said during class she was bouncing up and down so much she asked her if she had to use the restroom. RyAnne informed her that she was just excited to dance:-)! It made me happy to see her enthusiastic!

New Friends

RyAnne met a new neighbor a few weeks ago and they instantly became best friends. When Jehona comes over they like to play dolls, barbies, swim, and make crafts. They can't get enough of eachother and want to play constantly! They are very sweet together.
Here they are showing off their best friends shrinky dink bracelets they made.

Lonely......

Dakota and Bailey (and Mom) really miss RyAnne when she is away at school each day. We walk her to the bus stop every morning. In between they keep busy reading, playing on the play equipment, riding bikes, playing in the sand and water, and tackling and tickling mom until it is time to pick her up at the bus stop each afternoon.

Here they are passing time by reading books until "Ry Ry" gets home from school.

RyAnne's First Day of School!

Mom woke up at 6:45 a.m. hoping to get a cup of coffee and prepare (herself) for RyAnne's first day of kindergarten. However, she looked and there was RyAnne next to her exclaiming, "Well, let's get ready for school!"

The night before we listed all the things she needs to do in the morning on her chore chart to get ready for school. She did them all on her own this a.m. and gave herself "stars" when each one was complete.
All ready to go!
Mom drove RyAnne, her friend Jehona, and Jehona's brother to school. This is RyAnne in front of the school - all excited!
We went to her classroom where she met up with her teacher and classmates. This is where she will sit.
RyAnne and her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Wilcox.

After about 10 minutes, Mom hesitantly left the classroom...in tears! RyAnne was fine.

I reminded RyAnne and told her teacher that I would be picking her and her friends up after school. After school, Dakota, Bailey, and I were in the cafeteria anxiously waiting for her.....and waiting for her.... We saw Ardit and finally Jehona, then RyAnne's class - but no RyAnne! Her teacher said she got on the bus - PANIC! We rushed to the bus line....we waited for her teacher to look for her.....Mom was deep breathing...and there she was - THANK GOODNESS!

She said she had a "good" first day - but she was mad because she wanted to ride the bus.
