Two (Sleeping) Beauties and a (Spider) Man

The twins enjoyed digging out the "guts" of the pumpkins this year!

Dad, Mom, and Zachary carved. The kids picked their patterns. From left - Zachary, RyAnne, Bailey, and Dakota's pumpkins.
All smiles and ready to GO! Bailey and Dakota were SO excited this year - practicing their "Trick-or-Treat"s and "Thank you" weeks ahead of time!
We went trick-or-treating around Grandpa and Grandma Carter's house where the houses are closer together (which = more CANDY!)
Dakota would bounce down the driveway shouting, "I said thank you!" Bailey checked out her goods right away and showed us what she got and RyAnne, well, she is an old pro at this now!
All tired out and heading back to Grandma's house to look at our treats!

Great Time at Great Wolf

We spent one of the kids two days off of school swimming at Great Wolf Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells.
RyAnne is a litte daredevil - loving the fast rides! She will go on any waterslide her height will allow - and boy, does she get upset when her "shorter than the average" height holds her back!

The wave pool is always a hit!

Big (little) Girl's Bed

Bailey got her new big (little) girl's cottage toddler bed last night and she was all smiles:-)!!!!

Halloween Spirit

The kids got into the Halloween spirit on Wednesday. First, RyAnne had a party at school. The kids put on their costumes and had different centers - Halloween BINGO, coloring, bookmarks (which Mom volunteered to be in charge of), and snacks.
Here RyAnne is making a Halloween bookmark. She made her fingerprints into spiders - CUTE!

Later that night, we went to "Trunk or Treat" at her school. The event was held inside because of the 60 mph winds. The kids had fun walking around trick or treating! It was amazing how some of the parents decorated their stations!

Aldo Leopold Field Trip

Mom chaperoned RyAnne's class trip to Aldo Leopold to learn about plants and trees.
The kids enjoyed the puppet show about seedlings.
Then we took a hike through the prairie looking at trees, leaves, and seeds. Above is a picture of RyAnne showing the guide something interesting she found!
Lastly, the kids all got to do a leaf rubbing of a leaf they found on the hike!

Spooky, Stinky Ghosts

The kids always make a craft for Dad's office door at school each holiday. This year, for Halloween, we made a spooky (ghost) stinky (from our feet) picture for his door.
Painting the feet was torture for Dakota who is extremely ticklish on his feet!
Stamping our feet on the paper!
All ready to hang!

Pete's Pumpkin Patch

Dakota, Bailey, and Mom took a trip to Pete's Pumpkin Patch today! Yes, Pete (as in Dad) and Dad did a great job growing pumpkins this year - 16 in all!

With 16 pumpkins to pick Dakota's John Deere came in handy! Dakota and Bailey took turns delivering the pumpkins to the front porch. Needless to say, we had pumpkins to share

Colors & Patterns

We have been working on colors and patterns at home. Bailey and Dakota are definitely tactile learners - especially when they are doing an activity they can eat:-)
Proudly showing off their necklaces and anxiously waiting to eat them!
