Franklin Family Easter

Another hunt! The big kids had to help the little kids get all of the eggs out of the trees!
"I found one!"
This is most of the Franklin family - some grandkids and great-grandkids are missing. Grandma Franklin, Great-Grandma Huebner, Great Aunt Joyce, and Uncle Dwayne are in the front. Grandpa Franklin is standing in the back.

This year a foreign exchange student that stayed with the Franklins when Dad was in high school was here to celebrate with them. Maurice, from France, her mother, and three kids spent 10 days in Wisconsin. They were fun to listen to, as they spoke NO english and talked in french the entire time!

Easter Morning

The egg hunt was on.....
The Bunny left less candy and more gifts this year...... he must know that we are trying to take better care of our teeth. He even left each of the kids new toothbrushes!

And yes.....he ate ALL of the ranch dressing! Who knew!

PIES & CRIES

Dad agreed to get taped up at school for a very good cause...Juvenile Diabetes!
Mom was hesitant about going to watch... because she knows how sensitive her son is...... but after a little coaxing from Dad and his friend (UHMMM...Dianne) she caved! RyAnne and Bailey had NO problem with it. Nancy, a co-worker at Dad's school, waved some $$$$ in front of them and they were even helping tape Dad up!

Dakota, well he sat with Mom.

One very giving student donated $20 to throw a pie in Dad's face!

Dakota...........well...............
he LOVES his Daddy!

FABULOUS FOUR!

Dakota and Bailey turned the big FOUR today! Since there is no longer any mutual theme they like (last year it was Dora & Diego) - we went with a Spiderman AND Rapunzel party!
The presents! They only had one present to share this year - a Leapster 2 - otherwise Dakota mainly got Super Hero toys and Bailey got princesses...... just like the theme!
Another castle! Pretty soon she'll have the entire kingdom!

And another Big Wheel with lights and sirens! Hopefully there will be no more fighting over bikes anymore!
Grandma Franklin made these ADORABLE sweaters!
In her game playing position!
The "boys" knocking down barrels with Dakota's Spiderman Radio Control Whip-it racer!

Assembling the Batcave!
Zachary finished assembling it while Dakota was in the tub and he couldn't wait to come out and see it!

WATCH D.O.G.S

Grandpa Carter volunteered to be the "WATCH D.O.G" at RyAnne's school on Monday! The WATCH D.O.G.S (Dads (or other positive male figures) of Great Students) program invites male role models to volunteer in schools for the day.

Look who met us at the door!
RyAnne and Grandpa before school started at 'Jumpstart'.

RyAnne introduced her grandpa to the school before he volunteered that day.
RyAnne was SO excited to have him in school for the day! He worked in her classroom for awhile in the a.m. and ate lunch with her. Otherwise he was busy working with other classrooms and students, keeping the hallways safe, and with recess duty. When he brought RyAnne home after school he exclaimed, "I'm exhausted!" :-) Yes, I know, I know.

They looked identical.....and LOVED it! Wish Dakota and Bailey felt the same!

Happy National Pig Day!

Yes, you read that correct -March 1st is National Pig Day! When Mom taught, she would always celebrate this day with pig themed activities in class all day. This year, Mom went into RyAnne's first grade class. We read a reader's theatre about pigs, did pig math and language activities, learned about the different breeds of pigs, and made a pig mask. Above is a picture of RyAnne's landrace 'princess' pig mask and her teacher. Mom also made the class "Happy Pig Day" necklaces and gave them pig pencils!

Horizon Celebrates Concert

RyAnne's school held a concert for the parents Tuesday afternoon. The focus of the concert was on celebrations that we and other countries honor. The first graders sang about Earth Day.

Here RyAnne is - front row again! She REALLY dislikes being short! However, when we explained to her how lucky she is to be short and in the front row for concerts where everybody can see her better, well, then she thought it was okay!
She had a speaking part with another little boy in her class. She was SUPER excited about it!
Great job, Bug! Dad and Mom are so proud of you!
