Farmer's Market

What better to do on a rainy Wednesday than go to the Dane County Farmer's Market?!

The rain didn't stop us from having a picnic. We were lucky to find this picnic table under a tree that kept us dry!
Hi ho hi ho it's off to the market we go!
The kids like to visit the capitol.....
there were still people there protesting....it was very emotional.....

First Place!

The Franklin family had another chance to cheer on the Brew Crew. They are in first place and played the TB Rays so what could go wrong - right? Well, first we stepped out of the van and it was COLD! Luckily mom packed the little kids pants and we had our blankets for the ride home......
Oh, and sitting inside the van helps :-)
Then Dad throws on the brats and Mom goes to grab the bags of chips, plates, utensils, etc. Bags? Where are the bags? Oh dear, the bags were left in the garage at home! Needless to say we ate the brats with our fingers (Dad did beg 3 buns off our neighbors for the kids:-). Luckily, chips and dessert are available in the park!
So Dad, Dakota, and Bailey leave to get snacks in the 3rd inning and we are waiting.....and waiting.....and waiting....... and then it is time for sausage race (Dakota and Bailey's favorite part of the game) so Mom decides to go looking for them and up they come. They stood in line for 3 innings to get nachos! Well, at least they made it back for the race!
Lastly, the Brewers lost 8 to 4! Ho hum..... at least there will be more chance for better games!

Only In Wisconsin.......

Donna Davis Dance Studio's 56th annual dance recital was titled Only in Wisconsin...

It was RyAnne's second recital. Here is a picture of the ballerina before the big show!

The girls getting rid of their pre-show jitters and posing before the performance.
The first dance - tap!
Ballet!
And lastly - jazz!
Mom, Dad, Gpa & Gma Franklin, and Gpa & Gma Carter really enjoyed the performance!

While walking out a lady that we didn't even know commented that RyAnne did a great job which brought a huge smile to RyAnne's face. Dad and Mom were very proud of her...but what made us even prouder was the fact that before the finale RyAnne realized some of her fellow dancers were sad because they did not have flowers to carry on stage and RyAnne gave some of her flowers to them! Great job, Bug! Dad and Mom are SO proud of you!

Bailey

Our Bailey.....she is one of a kind! She is silly, quirky, and one tough little cookie! Dad and Mom get a kick out of her.

She also loves animals - and BUGS! Her main love is our cat, Trooper, who is NOT a people cat. That does not bother Bailey, however, who follows him around and is now into picking him up!
This winter she had her boxelder bug "friends" she found in our house.
And now that it is Spring she is having fun with WORMS! One day she spent about an hour digging them up and transplanting them. Dad suggested Mom put some gloves on her and when Mom did Bailey put her worm friend in her jacket pocket! :-)
Later that day, RyAnne said, "What is that?" And pointed to something on the carpet in the living room! Yep, it was a worm! Bailey brought her new friend in to play!

Franklin Family Easter

Another hunt! The big kids had to help the little kids get all of the eggs out of the trees!
"I found one!"
This is most of the Franklin family - some grandkids and great-grandkids are missing. Grandma Franklin, Great-Grandma Huebner, Great Aunt Joyce, and Uncle Dwayne are in the front. Grandpa Franklin is standing in the back.

This year a foreign exchange student that stayed with the Franklins when Dad was in high school was here to celebrate with them. Maurice, from France, her mother, and three kids spent 10 days in Wisconsin. They were fun to listen to, as they spoke NO english and talked in french the entire time!
