September 4th, 2012 - Dakota, RyAnne, and Bailey all started school at Horizon Elementary!
It is exciting to have them all in the same school - together! It is sad that our 'babies' are starting kindergarten! Where does the time go?
Mom was SUPER excited that she was able to drive them in to school the first day. Mom started back to school again, too - with the Madison Metropolitan School District - so she felt very fortunate to be able to drop the kids off!
First, we dropped RyAnne's things off. A quick "See ya!" And RyAnne was off! She's an old pro at the first day stuff - she was ready to mingle with her friends!
Then it was time to drop off Dakota and Bailey's backpacks....
All the kindergarteners were to meet in the library for Jumpstart. Dakota and Bailey found a spot and listened to directions.
When it was time to line up and go with their teachers the pictures stopped. Bailey and Dakota got in line - Mom was holding back the tears and her heart strings were aching but she was smiling and waving - and then Dakota started bawling! Mom convincingly returned Dakota to his line behind Bailey and reassured him that he would be alright, that he would have fun, that this was the best thing for him. After a few minutes she walked out the door leaving all her kids behind thinking, "What am I doing? Will they be alright? Oh, poor .......... ME!"
